Serena Doak: motorcycles are only as dangerous as riders make them. especially dirtbikes.
Demetrius Coaster: High speed riding is quite dangerous especially for beginners riding supersports.
Kimberlee Bowdish: I started riding in 1964. On the street I have had a couple os very slow/dead stopped drops, involving a total of abrasion of less than a square inch. I have never crashed in the meaning of having another vehicle/object. Repeat: NO CRASHES.I totaled a sports car in '65, have had about dozen fender benders, hitting me at or near a dead stop.Motorcycles are, in my experience, are *far safer* than cars/vans/trucks.Motorcycles are not dangerous. Most motorcyclists are dangerous....Show more
Frank Crummell: Compared to what? I've been into high risk sports all my life and I put a motorcycle at about medium risk. When you ride a bike in traffic there are people out there who may as well be conciously trying to kill you. You are not surrrounded by! a steel cage,it's just you and giant fast moving equipemnt driven by homicidial maniacs. That's a fact....Show more
Lia Argall: Your intelligent friend sounds like a pessimist.
Shawn Lelis: Motorcycles are safe. People are dangerous. Do stupid things on a motorcycle and bad things happen. Other drivers do stupid things around motorcycles and bad things happen.People also die in cars. Does this make cars death traps also? I don't think your friend is as intelligent as you think he is.I have been riding since 1965. I have owned several motorcycles and none of them have killed me yet.Ride Safe - Have FunAlways remember this. On a motorcycle stupid hurts....Show more
Kenneth Thuesen: Not extremely dangerous deathtraps unless they are made so by the stupid and inexperienced riders
Wilfredo Muldoon: That depends on what you intend to do with it, and how you intend to go about doing that: if the bike is being purchased for resale (usually an ultimate! consideration), assuming equal use and condition, the GSXR100! 0 will hold a higher value in its niche than the Hayabusa; correspondingly, the Hayabusa will hold a higher value in its niche than the GSXR1000.Market factors will ultimately reveal which resulted for its purchaser in greater profit (or less loss). Unfortunately, there are too many variables to make a reliable prediction in that regard. For daily use, the lighter bike is the way to go: handling will be better, fuel economy will be comparable, maintenance without the bodywork will be easier (but not necessarily less expensive if you get it done at a shop)....Show more
Chi Alfero: Cage drivers who donât pay attention are dangerous, boys who drive like they are in race to beat other drivers who are not competing with them and women who are paying more attention to the inside of their car then the outside.
Mack Ukich: [1] I have been riding for 37 years, and I'm still alive. None of the 6 bikes which I currently own has killed me.[2] As a motorcycle instructor! (since 2004), I have taught over 1,000 students how to ride. None have died yet.
Natalya Sydney: I've had 6 motorcycles since I was 12, and I haven't killed myself yet. But I guess there's always a FIRST TIME. I'll have to get back with you on that last one.
Donella Vasta: Motorcycles arent deathtraps some of the guys/girls on them make them that way if you drive responsibly. ( i mean i gun it every now and then because i mean come on we all the sound of a roaring engine) but i never speed or race.
Joel Feagler: Stay with a cruiser. I'm 185 lbs, and I ride a very heavy 1600cc Roadstar. Sure, it's heavy, but I'm not lifting it. They're very low slung to the ground so the center of gravity is low. I have no problem balancing the bike, and once the light turns green and my feet leave the ground, the bike weighs nothing. I laid it down once, trying to pull my cell phone out at a stop-light, but I picked it back up. There's a very easy technique for pickin! g up a heavy bike. Check out YouTube. Also, make sure your heavy crui! ser has an engine guard. If you do lay it down, the guard will protect nearly everything on the bike including your legs....Show more
Manual Burtis: as long as you be careful you'll be fine
Bernadette Roel: YES very, get a 4 wheel coffin instead,by the way once you get your bike never let your "friend"ride it,sit or even touch it.Also,is time to get new friends, preferable ones that own and ride motorcycles and share your enthusiasm for motorcycles.
Horace Escue: Street use motorcycles have high risk - period. Injury risk from other drivers is high. 5,000 lb car versus 500lb motorcycle with rider exposed is inherently dangerous. Additionally, street dikes have added risk road condition risk. Gravel, oil, potholes are all much higher risk of causing crash than with a car.The above said, with care and experience and proper training, street bikes can be very fun.
Caterina Yeargan: Is there any difference in acceleration between 2010 rsv4-R & 2011 rsv4-R A! PRC?Can I get official information from somewhere?
Victor Macallister: I can choose between a 2004 hayabusa and a 2004 GSXR1000 i really don't know witch one to choose. which one is the better choice?
Jacques Vaquera: Yes.Read the 2nd paragraphhttp://www.asphaltandrubber.com/bikes/2011-aprilia...
Caryl Mclaen: Motorcycles are very dangerous. They require much more skill to operate, are incredibly lighter than most vehicles on the road with them (less mass = lose every collision), have no air bags or collapsible frame to protect the rider, and generally leave a person exposed to being a half second away from death every moment. That being said, they are incredibly fun. I started riding five years ago and am glad that is has become a part of my life. Skydiving is dangerous, climbing mountains is dangerous, going up to the international space station is dangerous...plenty of things in life are dangerous. For some people, however, the experience they achiev! e from the act is worth the risks involved. For others, it seems insan! e.Given that motorcycle riders generally are really only risking their own lives most of the time (the whole mass thing again) I don't see why anyone would care. I would be lying however if there weren't times I got on the bike and wondered if it might be my last, or that I was really burning through a turn and felt it slide some and though I might have pushed a little too far this time. Again, in the end the freedom (for lack of a better word) a bike makes you feel on a beautiful day, in beautiful country, it's hard to beat for me....Show more
Floy Fague: Hmm...I've never been trapped in one.Yet, I have been trapped in a "cage".Which misnomer is more appropriate? If your friend were truly that intelligent, he would recognize the idiocy of his choice of wording.I still get a chuckle out of "murdercycle" - a much more appropriate choice, as far as linguistics go....Show more
Jannette Kotz: I was looking at cruisers but people say it may be hard because they're h! eavy. So what's a good bike style to start with?
Lester Haschke: Are motorcycles extremely dangerous deathtraps?Absolutely! That's why you see so many of them on the roads these days... Most people in the country secretly have a death wish! That's why I have been riding motorcycles since 1963!
Antonia Quinnett: No! there is no hidden dangers in motorcycling, FACT, "More people die of old age than on motorbikes". FACT Alike smoking , "the government only put the price of cigarettes up, so they can afford to buy parliament cigarettes", FACT. "Footballers should back the smokings"OK" campaign in the UK, they would look good running into the box with a cigarette in the mouths". Last week i did 125mph on a built up area for charity, The local girls of the 125 Alive society UK@google search.com posed naked in the nude, with no cloths on, for Autism charity calender shoot, at the local swimming baths, but because of the "No cameras allowed at pools ban, the calende! r will be sold as plain ruled A2 paper sheets in Rymans. I believe that! people do them selves hypocondriacts harm on these bikes, and they fake the accidents to get attention, like the old wet sponge at football matches, as soon as the physio arrives on the scene(Mick Bars Motorbikes) with his de restricted 125 as a 250, they make a magic recovery in seconds at the sight of this learner legal surprise coming there way. "its all they ever wanted", And i have seen kids never mind 16 years old on de restricted 50cc moto-ma-cycles, but kids the age of 11 with cigarettes in the mouths, AND THEY "LOVE IT", and it is best to keep the kids happy, Tracy from chingford does this fake motorbike crash, and has a friend take photos of her, and she try's to get sympathy and attention by putting them on the internet. Ive seen motobikers crash at 150mph on the M-Way and get up and go and have a dinner at little red chef, they do more harm to the car they collided with, and we all know it was a pumpkin head they used in the 70s and 80s bike danger adverts on t! he TV , when Mr Honda C90 failed to make a life saver and smashed up the built up area, so it could not be used again for a week, Train track suicide on the London Underground? Indeed i have seen many, they think they now it all, and do not realise that when you pull of the platform on your de restricted 125, as the train is approaching, you must take a "life saver first", Them trains are really de restricted 450's and are big, and only full licence holders can ride them" The problem is motorcyclists do not look after there machines, they need better advice on care, and maintenance, You should fill the tank with Dot-3, this insures better braking of the machine, you should always soak your brakes in a bowl of oil overnight, so they will not rust. Ive seen skid testers at Harley Norton motorbike test centre fall of there bikes because they was not wearing proper protective clothing, when they have to test these bikes before they go on sale, they have to flood a operations ro! ad with oil ,from a tanker, and then see how the bike handles when they! are doing 125mph over the slick. JUST READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL IF THIS ACURES, just leave it to the pros and eaze of the throttle, and that will pull you out of the aquaplane, i rid over oil flooded roads at 152mph and never had any problems with my "high vizz "green helmeton...Show more
