Why are there doctors in that section: Diseases?

Sena Highman: Haha, that was brilliant.

Madge Voice: Here's the problem with the analogy Voddie presents. First of all, you can use the Bible all you want. No one will stop you. The problem is that it is unconvincing not as proof a BIBLE exists, it is unconvincing as proof that GOD exists, or that Jesus existed or was divine, or any of the other claims the Bible makes. You, and those in the clip, are misunderstanding what your burden is here if you want to persuade skeptical people of the validity of your beliefs. I have no problem believing the Bible exists. I really don't. So you waste your time when you quote it to me. I already believe it says what it says. This is why the analogy falls apart. The knight has his sword out--I have no problem believing he has a sword. If you or Voddie have your Bible out, I have no problem believing you have a Bible. But just because you have a Bible, it's mere existence proves nothing at all of its contents. If the knight we! nt on to say "my sword proves a god exists"--I might TELL him that I believe him, to avoid incurring his wrath and getting beheaded, but I would secretly not believe him.Now let me use Voddie's analogy with another book, but not the Bible. Suppose I were to use the Spiderman comics to try to persuade you that Spiderman was real. Would that be persuasive? Would Voddie's analogy work then? Why not? Even if you counter that Spiderman is known fiction--what if the authors claimed it was real? Would that make it any more convincing? For that matter, would Voddie's analogy work for other holy books? Why not? They exist too, just like the Bible. Why can't THEY use THEIR holy books too? Isn't their God or Gods just as valid if one claims the book proves it?ANYTHING can be written into a book. Without any external evidence, a book is useless as any sort of evidence. This is why we atheists disregard it when you try to offer the Bible as proof. Many of us have read it--! believe me. I've read the whole thing over 30 years ago. Thi! s is why we ask for your real evidence. Evidence that is observable, testable, verifiable, and can be observed and tested by multiple independent and skeptical observers. This is the hurdle that a scientific hypothesis has to leap, and a scientific theory has to do even better than that....Show more

Providencia Jalbert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmvdiOmG3rs

Virgil Menefee: Yes I do believe that this is a YouTube video.I loved the nonexistent sword in his hand pretending that it's a realsword, oh sweet irony.

Frances Macky: The Bible exists. I have no doubt of that. I have several copies of it, in fact. It is the contents of the Bible that I doubt. If someone pulled a sword on me, then I would believe in the sword in the same way. But if there were some inscription on the sword which read "forged in the fires of 1,000 dragons", then I would doubt it, just as I doubt the Bible. This is a faulty comparison.

Flor Lizardi: haha. Yes. pills.

! Patrick Bitsui: Yes.@ Pastor ArtDid you watch the video? The verses mentioned were not in the Bible? Which verses are you saying are not in the Bible?...Show more

Leticia Laiben: lol, why are there humans in the Cats section?

Ilana Gaster: No.

Carolynn Testani: Hardly. There are too many people I would expect on this board who know the truth to allow the Mormons to be in control.

Bianca Lannier: The New Eve and the New Ark of the Covenant....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUdYeYy3NQA

Lahoma Beadell: It takes a while to show up.

Shamika Schools: Yeah, at 11-minutes, it may be more than most could sit through. But it pretty much blows the "just another woman" theory out of the water.

Rachell Meese: yes

Kris Otuafi: That video is not Biblical. It reaches conclusion which aren't supported by the text of the Bible.Mary is not the new Eve. She's the girl God choose to be Jesus' Mom.

Loise Mausser: I asked this question:http! ://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoiOx...and Y!A wont display i! t on the R&S board. This has never happened before. Is there a Mormon conspiracy!?LOL....Show more

Alma Twomey: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200905...

Roni Kurz: You can use your bible as a source you just need to prove that the bible is a reliable source. If I were to take a fantasy novel into a physics lab and say, "well my book says we can all fly if we trust this character," would my book be proof that the laws of physics are just suggestions? The example of the sword in the video does not work because there is a sword and we can test the affects of sword to body. The bible is a story book with no corroboration....Show more

Danica Timperman: Hmmm.... Odd. A few of my Mormons questions have sometimes taken an hour to show up.

Rosalva Steinmann: Sounds like a bible salesman, I hear sales are down. So if you don't be leave in Santa, I will use the book the night before Christmas for my argument

Long Woltjer: No, I think your ot! her question was too long. And there are too many narrow minded people on yahoo answers to give a long winded explanation of anything. I come here just for my own benefit and stay away from indepth answers - its a waste of energy.

Lady Laflin: You probably violated the community guidelines. I've seen some of your other questions....wouldn't surprise me.

Lupe Sancen: So you're comparing atheists to doctors now?Save your savior complex for someone who cares.

Lia Argall: I found it funny! I certainly do not tell people that they must not quote the Bible . . . when I get bored with their quotes, I just wander off. If quoting the Bible was really like wielding a sword, I would not be able to do that.

Alonso Crehan: No dear.Your question is online. Just give it time to show up...

Nikita Schroepfer: I have been a Catholic all of my life. I did watch the entire video.I believe that this video was made to speak to those Christians who come at their be! lief in Christ from an entirely biblical perspective. Those of us who ! are cradle Catholics would not tend to speak about Mary as the "New Eve", or link the passages that are linked here.I'm not saying that what is here is inaccurate. I'm just trying to answer you question. Those of us raised in Catholicism look to Mary as the mother of the church just as we look to our own mothers here on earth. It is simpler than what is presented in this video....Show more

Carter Dewater: So , religion = Disease and Atheists = Doctors ? you really should take your pills , you're nuts without them .

Inge Mclaurine: I couldn't hang in there any longer. It was all too trite and I was starting to get angry at the sheer nonsense of the comparisons between the gospel of John and Genesis. I'm beginning to believe that old John must have read Genesis. Something the maker of that video seems to have overlooked. I never got to the Mary bit.

Cherlyn Tefera: They can't help it! Their diseased patients insist on bothering them!

Asa Soho: Yea! h.. pretty accurate. I've heard all those things discussed on Catholic Answers LIVE radio broadcast.

Elaina Adolfson: What a pathetic excuse for an argument! Is this person really trying to compare the known properties of a sword to the spurious and often rehashed tales of an old set of books? Only an idiot would buy into that nonsense. And only a moron would think it was brilliant.

Gregg Hagge: Yeah and they are taking a breather!

Mohamed Szollosi: leave the hooch pipe alone

King Bringle: Maybe they like making fun of people with disease. Wait..can religion also be considered a disease of the mind? Hmm. Something to think on.

Julieta Suleiman: Ignorant verbal tap dancing.

Lita Thammorongsa: greg said no

Will Camus: I thought 11mins would be too long but it didn't drag at all. Very good but I understand other Christians reluctance to open their mind to Mary; they genuinely believe that it detracts from Jesus.

Lashawn Zabarkes! : Well, if they do decide to hang out there they really need to do some! thing about the pandemic of stupidity. It seems to be exponentially increasing day by day.Look how bad it is already. Some people who have answered your question don't even know how to click a link anymore. Moreover than that, judging by some other answers, I can assume some people did, in fact, click the link but were unable to comprehend the message you were trying to convey. For the sake of humanity, somebody do something!...Show more

Luis Farlow: Didn't bother watching the video but what you said about Mary being the New Eve and Ark of the New Covenant, it sounds like it might be pretty accurate.

Wilfredo Muldoon: Good for viewing public for educational purposes of the role of St Mary as she is very misunderstood since the reformation.

Luis Farlow: Smart!Edit:Too smart for some, by the looks of things.

Amina Motzer: If you compare atheists to doctors then why do so few of them know fundamental religious doctrines.I would not want a doctor to oper! ate on me had he/she not been through med school

Craig Virani: He's fun to listen to, but, so is George Carlin. And Carlin's comments on the silliness of religious dogma is better in content and delivery.

Jacques Teri: At first I didn't get it. But you are win. full of it! You win my cat.

Mildred Pombo: This argument still doesn't assure me the bible didn't come out of urban legends that got people to believe it was real, then they wrote it down on paper. I would need some kind of confirmation that this didn't happen. This analogy doesn't help at all.
