It is used in nurseries to start seedlings, people install them in their back yards.The connection with Global Warming is due to the fact that the warming of the planet is attributed in part to a greenhouse effect caused by the increase in pollutants in the atmosphere. These pollutants play the role of the glass in the greenhouse, and trap the heat from the Sun in our atmosphere.So, in short, the greenhouse effect has a causal relationship with the Global Warming. Gilberto Cratin: Not really any difference.The greenhouse effect is the term used to describe the warming of a planet due to an atmosphere that contains gases such as methane, carbon dioxide ! and a few others). These gases allow sunlight to enter, but don't let the heat (infrared) to escape. This is very much the same effect in a glass greenhouse - the glass lets the sunlight in but stops the heat from escaping.The term is used when referring to any planet (for example Venus) where this effect occurs.Global warming is a recently-coined term used to describe this warming effect on Earth....Show more
