Are lace dresses really more for beach weddings?

Jonathan Schlussel: Lace dresses have always been a traditional wedding fabric and are not exclusive to any kind of wedding. Any type of fabric or style is suitable for an indoor wedding. You base the style on your body type, what looks best on you and what you love. If you are having a formal wedding, you want a floor length dress with a train. If you are having a small, informal wedding, you might want a teal length dress or a floor length dress with a sweep train or no train. Silk is more expensive than polyester. Satin, lace, organza and chiffon are all traditional fabrics. Lace can be worn anywhere.Good luck and have a happy wedding!...Show more

Rashad Marecki: No, they are definitely not just for beach weddings. Lace dresses are classic and feminine without being sparkly. And lace dresses come in all different types of cuts and silhouettes. It's really just whatever looks best on your figure and fits the style wedding you are having.*EDIT: Here are a f! ew links to pictures of lace wedding dresses that would work great for an indoor wedding, just to give you an idea:http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordTex...http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordTex...http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordTex...http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordTex......Show more

Carlee Tangaro: lace is good for indoors or out. It is you wedding and you should wear what you like.

Renita Sefton: No not unless you want one. Im having an outdoor wedding but not at the beach. But no you can have whatever type of dress you want

Kellie Waycott: Personally, I think of lace for indoors and chiffon and organza for the beach. Here is the dress I just bought, and I am getting married in an evening church ceremony and having a ballroom reception. I thought the lace actually made my dress more formal, not less.http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordTex...This link is to my dress designer's Destination! Wedding dresses. Lenard Ginyard: The silhouette determines beach/outdoor weddings more than anything and that isn't to say you can't have a low-pouf dress indoors. Here is the generally accepted style of a "wedding dress" (this isn't the only style, just a general perception of what people will think of):http://www.edenbridals.com/5108-p-1617.htmland here is a beautiful lace wedding gown:http://www.edenbridals.com/2366-p-1608.htmlAnd here is what people generally think of as an outdoor/beach wedding dress:http://www.edenbridals.com/1375-p-1630.htmlAre they both wedding dresses? ABSOLUTELY! The difference is people tend to go for less poufy, more comfortable dresses for the outdoor/beach wedding.I actually chose an "informal" style of wedding dress for my church wedding (indoors) and normal reception with cocktail hour, dinner, and open bar. I chose it because I wanted to be comfortable!...Show more
