Cell Phone!?!?!?

Neely Youngblut: I think it would be ok but i would recommend one that has a set amount of minutes on it so he doesnt abuse it. But yea i think in an emergency sistuation its a good idea.

Nona Lentini: i am in eighth grade and i got my phone the summer of sixth grade. let me tell you it is sooo helpful and me and my mom are so grateful we got it then! it is so much easier to get a hold of each other! that way he won't have to stay at someone's house, he will always have contact with you! you should also get him texting because i think cell phones without texting are just pointless. you may think that he is a little young but i think that sixth grade is about the time to get a phone! if you are concerned about what he will do on it, just simply block the internet, music tones, music videos, etc. he will love you lots!peace.:D...Show more

Vernita Robberson: Okay, well I got a cell phone when I was in fourth grade. Although it was pre-paid I felt responsible.(it ! was only $15 at WalMart!) The commericals hypnotise him Needs_______________________________________________1. In case of an emergincy2. If he goes to a friend's house that you get a funny feeling with3. If he goes on the road to walk the dog4. If he goes somewhere with out you...Show more

Jonathan Schlussel: The only reason to get him a phone is for emergency use and have quick contact with you as a parent. Period. It is not a right for him to have one it is a privilige - I would make that completely clear. Watch out for the text m! essage charges that are soon to follow.

Alphonso Brake: Get a prepaid cell phone with a set amount of minutes and give it a test run. Once the minutes run out, you can decide to either add more minutes or stop for a while. This way you can see how it goes without signing on for a long term contract.

Floyd Labuda: i got my phone a few months ago right after i became diabetic. my parents wanted me to get a phone so while i'm out if anything happens i can call them, but i wouldn't get him one quite yet
